Platinum Games just launched a highly successful kickstarter for The Wonderful 101 Remastered. The project netted about 2.2 million dollars as they push forward with porting the game. Considering that some of these developers are usually backed by major publishers we question the very nature of this idea which involves kickstarting dream projects as a major studio. We look at prior history, kickstarters that didn't deliver on the promises and the very nature of how feedback is delivered in the process.

Clover Studio was founded in 2004, it was part of Capcom's studio 9 plan to have a branch that creates new, and risky intellectual properties under the Capcom umbrella. The studio eventually dissolved, remaining members went on to form Platinum Games, a studio that has made many critical titles under their network with engaging ideas from a growing network of developers. This podcast is all about Clover, their impact from past, present, and living on through Platinum Games.
